Ultimate Sprintcar Championship

And the groom went vroom!

The previous Saturday Sam Walsh was cruising past his Sprintcar on a motorbike towards his bride to be at his wedding.

Seven days later he scored his third feature race victory of the season with a commanding performance in round fourteen of the Ultimate Sprintcar Championship NSW on Saturday night at Valvoline Raceway.

Second to the line was Matt Dumesny and it is safe to say that he was on a charge.

After being sent to the rear for a spin in the early stages, Matt marched his way up the ladder. Lap after lap, pass after pass, Matt was electrifying to watch.

In third was James Thompson who was the early pace setter before dropping back to second and eventually third with just four laps remaining.

By virtue of his third place finish, Thompson solidifies his second place in the USC points with just three rounds remaining.

Coming home in fourth was current USC NSW leader Robbie Farr.

Robbie had an up and down race, dropping as low as seventh at half race distance before recovering to fourth. In fifth was Alex Orr who started from position eleven and like Robbie Farr, was moving forward in the latter stages of the race.

Rounding out the top ten was Marcus Dumesny in sixth, Daniel Sayre from deep in the pack to finish seventh, Jordyn Brazier in eighth, Ben Atkinson in ninth and Jess Cassidy placed tenth and in the process, recorded her first USC top ten finish.

Eleventh was Warren Ferguson, twelfth was Troy Little after winning the B-Main, Grant Tunks was next followed by Matt Geering, Jessie Attard, Shane Sheedy, Brendan Scorgie, Guy Stanshall, Peter Gordon, Andrew Wright and Courtney O’Hehir was the final finisher. Non-finishers were Shaun Dobson, Danny Reidy and Max Dumesny.

Danny Reidy was quickest in qualifying flight one with a 12.818 second lap and Sam Walsh was quickest in flight two with a 12.857 second lap.
Heat wins went to Shaun Dobson, James Thompson, Matt Dumesny and Robbie Farr.

The B-Main was a win for Troy Little from Shane Sheedy, Matt Geering and Jessie Attard.

The next event on the SANSW calendar will be Saturday, March 10 when the next Development event will be held at Valvoline Raceway.
